Projects: Current, Finished, Fantasy and Wearing

Tamara
  • Current. A top-down poncho out of Malabrigo Rios in a deep red named Jupiter. She's super excited about the top-down poncho idea and has 5 more for sure planned for upcoming designs. This one uses the same cable from her Amelia sweater that she wore recently (and shared a pic of her wearing it on Instagram since she's wearing the samples now).
  • Current. A new top-down tee design in fingering weight with the same neon rainbow stripe from the matching hats she made recently for herself and the older teen. The neon rainbow yarn is a mini-skein set from TallPineYarn and she loves it!
  • Current. A new Hot Chocolate Hat out of yarn from a friend's sheep. The friend gifted Tamara many skeins so she's knitting the friend a Hot Chocolate Hat with one of them. She's hoping the friend doesn't listen to the podcast and ruin the surprise.
  • Current. Sherri talked Tamara into knitting a pair of socks in that yummy 6-ply Regia. Tamara has found that 48 stitches is the right amount for her for a pair of socks in this yarn. They are going super, super fast!

Topic of the Show: Attending Festivals and Conferences

Sherri and Tamara talk about attending fiber festivals and conferences. Tamara shared some of the tips from her the short piece she wrote for Interweave Knits Fall 2021 (the name at the top shows the Interweave employee who posted this to the blog, but you can still find Tamara's byline at the bottom). Sherri shared some of her thoughts on when she loves to attend alone and when she loves to attend with friends. And they both had fun talking a bit about events they've attended or plan to attend in the future.

  • Read Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson. It wasn't all rainbows but it really resonated with her. And now she wants to try a piece of black cake sometime.
  • Reading Astrophysics for People in a Hurry by Neil de Grass Tyson. She's learning some things and learning she doesn't care about some things.
