Current Projects
Sherri:
- What she's not knitting on: her Peony (Ravelry link), this is her bright pink Dutch still-life inspired top-down sweater out of Neighborhood Fiber Co gradient kit. It's in time out right now and thinking about how it is behaving.
Tamara:
- Finished the first Art Deco Cowl sample and cast on the second one right away! The panels on this cowl evoke the metal art nouvea and art deco panels found in architecture from the first quarter of the 1900s or so. Natural lines of flowers, plants and shapes. The sample cowls are knit in cotton sport weight yarns (so good for summer knitting) in clear, bright a melon and lime green color.

Swatch: Review of Kelbourne Woolen's Germantown yarn
Sherri and Tamara take a few minutes to record a short Swatch Episode. As we round into a new year and are still under lockdown, we'll be adding some of these shorter Swatches in between our longer normal episodes.
In this Swatch, Sherri and Tamara review Kelbourne Woolen's Germantown yarn. This yarn was out of production for a long time and has been reborn! Originally produced in Philadelphia in the early 1800s from 100% US grown "territory wool" from Montana, Idaho and Wyoming. Available in 24 colors inspired by the original 1800s palette. They took a little time to discuss how it knits up on different types of needles, ply/twist, how it handles cables, lace and texture, their impressions of the yarn and its price point.

That's Entertainment (what we're watching, reading, eating and playing while we knit)
Sherri: - Listening to The Prancing Pony podcast. about The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Middle-earth, J.R.R. Tolkien and his books.
Tamara:
- Rhubarb! She's getting lots of rhubarb from her Farm to Table veggie box and needs new ideas for it. So far she's made rhubarb syrup and cobbler.
- Watching the series Daybreak on Netflix. Post apocalyptic teenage gangs roam Glendale, California while the only remaining adults are ghoulies repeating the last thing they said before the apocalypse.
