Projects: Current, Finished, Fantasy and Wearing
Sherri
- Knitting on her Peony (Ravelry link) for the Art Inspired MAL.
- Knitting on a ruana out of Brooks Farm yarn she bought at Stitches 2006. Sherri's Ruana (Ravelry link)
- Fantasy Knitting the Super Simple Summer Sweater (Ravelry link) by Joji Locatelli out of Retrosario Mungo yarn.
- Fantasy Knitting Waiting for Rain (Ravelry link) by Sylvia McFadden.
Tamara
- Knitting on the Water Lilies Cowl (Ravelry link) out of Quince & Co Sparrow in a shimmery grey/silver called Birch. This is her first time knitting with linen yarn so she's being slow and careful as she goes. She's excited about wearing this over the summer as a way to show off her knitting during warm weather.
- Released the Frida Tee (Ravelry link) and Agave Cowl. The Frida Tee is a hybrid top-town sport weight tee in 8 sizes with flower bud cable panels at the top and bottom. The Agave Cowl is a one-skein worsted weight cowl that uses knits, purls and simple cables to evoke the agave plant.
- Finishing up the Beach Glass Cowl that uses the same cables as her Beach Glass Pullover. This one will include both a Long and Short Version Cowls giving knitters two cowls for the price of one. Both samples are out of Malabrigo Rios in beach glass colors Teal Feather and Water Green.
- About ready to cast on a new Aran weight sweater for release in early winter 2022 out of Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride.
- The Prairie Fire Shawl out of the fingering weight deep red from 316 Dye Studio is in test knitting (Ravelry link) and she loves this one!!
- Lots and ots of design swatches for upcoming patterns. Another sweater, another cowl, a new long cloak/poncho, a shawl that was almost a sweater and more. This is lots of fun (and some headaches) but mainly it is a mess with her desk and office covered in projects....plus the bits that are spilling over into other room in the house.

Mulligans
Sherri:- She started the Ruana as a single piece but quickly decided she wants the sides open and started over with just the back piece.
Tamara: - She says she doesn't have any this time. She's done lots and lots of knitting, tweaking, ripping back, knitting again and so on. But she's calling that her normal design process for right now.

Join us for the Inspired by Art MAL! The Inspired by Art MAL runs from March 30 (Van Gogh's birthday) through end of July (Frida Kahlo's birthday month). To participate, pick a piece of art that inspires you, pick a fiber project to go along with your art and join us in the thread. Each finished art inspired project posted in the Ravelry thread will be entered as one chance to win the final prize of a beautiful skein of Apothefaery Delightful DK (115 g, 275 yds, 100% fine superwash Merino wool) in the color Sheep Social. (This colorway is a limited edition made only for Yarn Social inspired by this Henry Spencer Moore bronze piece at The Nelson-Adkins Museum of Art.) Chatting in the thread will also enter you to win a pattern pdf of one of Tamara's art inspired patterns about halfway through the MAL and again near the end of the MAL. If you don't use Ravelry, you can tag us on Instagram using the tag #gpartinspiredMAL to be entered to win the prizes.
That's Entertainment (what we're watching, reading, eating and playing while we knit)
Sherri- Watching actual TV since she turned off her streaming services. Mostly fine except for the commercials. She doesn't need to know that things like Fruity Pebbles coffee creamer exist.
- Watched the How to Train Your Dragon movie which is good but not at like the books that are also very good.
- Listening to How to Train Your Dragon (link to goodreads about book series) audiobooks read by David Tennant (Audible link).
- Yarn shopping for her birthday at the Yarn Mercantile in Independence, Missouri!!! This warehouse of yarn is currently open online and for private appointments.
Tamara
- Watched Sisyphus: The Myth on Netflix. South Korean time-travel drama.
- Watched Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+. She's super excited about all the new Marvel stuff coming this year and next from this newly released trailer.
- Read Indexing by Seanan McGuire where fairy tale narratives become reality with disastrous results.
- Going to lots of Track Meets. Turns out the younger teen can pole vault (she didn't say it out loud but it is kind of amazing and scary to watch at the same time).
- New grill. Needs help with awesome grill ideas. So far they've tried kabobs (the marinade in this kebab recipe was super tasty) and pizza. The kebabs were really good. The pizza was a big, big fail.
- Playing a new-to-us family board game called Robo Rally. She stinks at it but it's still fun (it's the conveyor belts that always get her).
