Knitting Question: What is your favorite gift hat or hat to gift?

Sherri's favorite gift hat is the Garter Ear Flap Hat by Purl Soho. She also likes Rafa's Hat by Joji Locatelli. And she likes to make hats to donate through a LYS. If it is a hat that can be knit while at the movies, bonus points!

Tamara's favorite gift hat is Judy, a basic ponytail hat. She usually takes yarn along with her to knit during the holidays as a way to keep calm and happy during the holiday stress. People were snatching the Judy ponytail hat out the gift basket (and off of her needles) as fast as she could knit them one year. Because the opening at the top of the hat holds the hat in place, this one pattern can fit a wide, wide range of head sizes. So she wrote up the very basic recipe and released it as a free pattern.

Mulligan

Sherri:
Hinagiku Hat by 87knit and Chic Chick by Beyhan Çayır out of the Mineville Wool Project Merino Singles in the color Beauxbatons. But she wasn't getting good stitch definition with those combinations of yarn and pattern. So she kept looking and found the Morel Hat which works out nicely with the yarn.
Sirle by Suvi Simola in Rowan Felted Tweed in the color 150 Rage. Ripped back. Then Talvine also by Suvi Simola.

Tamara:
Top down hats. More than one.

Tamara:
Upcoming top down tunic design out of Lamb's Pride Worsted in the color Plum Smoke.
Something out of Gloss DK in a teal cover she loves.
A new tee design that she can practically already see and she's just deciding which yarn to use for it.
The second of her series of Malachite Shawls out of Dream in Color Jilly in the color Green Lantern.

Showcase and Reviews: Pompoms

Sherri and Tamara talk about pompoms. The good, the bad and protecting them from dogs and cats. Mentioned Tamara's "bargain" bag of 12 pompoms. Sherri's McPorter Farms Faux Rabbit Fur pompom and Rowan Pompom. This video comes the closest to showing how Sherri makes her own pompoms - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-g8PAnxGlE.

At The Table

Sherri:
Apples. Lots and lots of apples.
Pinata (pineapple notes) tart.
Sweet Tango (sweet and spicy notes) bland.
Pink Lady (floral and fruity).
Going to make a cobbler. No specific recipe needed since she just adds ingredients until it looks and tastes right. If it turns out a little wonky, that's easily fixed by adding a scoop of ice cream.

Tamara:
We're finishing up our Farm to Table vegetable boxes. The last delivery was full of winter squash and sweet potatoes. So we've been cooking lots of things with acorn squash.
Stuffed Acorn Squash
Easy Roasted Acorn Squash
Instant Pot Tandoori Chicken
One Pan Italian Sausage and Veggies
